Red’s BBQ is considered one of the staple restaurants of Simi Valley. It’s been with us in more than one location for several years and the food has always been reliably good. It’s easily one of the busiest restaurants in Simi Valley, and for good reason. The BBQ sauce is unbeatable, along with the tasiest mashed potatoes ever made! If you like BBQ, Red’s is one of Simi’s finest.

This restaurant may serve acceptable food (with the exception of all the flies) but it is blighting the neighborhood it resides in. The rear of their building faces Galena St which is subject to very poor cleanliness and the stench from the dumpsters makes it unbearable downwind, the sidewalk leading to the dumpsters is also stained dark brown from employees transporting bones and other unused meat products to the dumpster which attracts flies, crows, seagulls and animals. The rear of the building reminds me of poor eating establishments in third world countries. I would hope that Red’s would try and provide more sanitary disposal methods and techniques and attempt to be a better neighbor to Simi Valley residents and other businesses affected by the deplorable conditions in the rear of their building rather then focusing on profits. If all the customers had to enter the rear of the building there would not be any in a very short period of time.
